Dear fellow management fans,
This will be my last entry. I've finished my management studies recently with the last module, a case study in retail. It was good. Or should I say, it was grand? Let's just say, this was the best thing I've done in 2017. It's near the end of a wonderful year and I just can't even be more thankful for this opportunity that I gave to myself. So great, in many ways. OSM has opened my eyes for new topics and I discovered my never before discovered discipline! Also, I've discovered new ideas, opportunities, and a long overdue vacation in between. All thanks to this wonderful online study experience that OSM gave me. I would like to take this opportunity and thank them on my blog as well. I thank the OSM team for their support and wonderful communication in any way. I was pleased to find myself capable of doing this for a whole year. And now I can say that I will most certainly conquer the rest of the world (just kidding, but certainly I will conquer my wife's heart one more time)! Time to say goodbye. Thanks for staying on this journey with me and your support. That was simply a great idea. Bring it on 2018! David

Hello and welcome back to my blog,
Tis the season and I'm working on my very last case study - and study material for that matter. It's a case study on "retail of online books". A very interesting topic! So far, I'm greatly enjoying it. It's a 26 pager with a lot of useful information on anything related to the online book business. Since this case study will take me a bit of time to finish, I certainly won't be finished next week. More like the end of the year (that's the plan). Next week, there won't be any entry to this blog. I hope you forgive me but I also have to do some Christmas shopping... My wife is so excited to begin her studies soon, too. I think it will be a great year for us. So many new things to come, so many new things to achieve. My daughter is entering 6th grade next year, too - where did the time go, you ask? I have no idea. Let's just keep enjoying it, though. I certainly will enjoy reading this wonderful case study over the holidays. And will come back with another entry soon. David Dear followers and management friends,
So the sports sector turned out to be quite an achievement for me! I scored the highest score on this! I'm really pleased and happy. What a wonderful way to finish a really nice study experience. I only wish it wasn't over yet... not! I'm glad it's over. But I still have one more module to go. It's another case study. I will reveal the topic next week! My week has been crazy. My work schedule is overflowing right now. But I still manage to get everything done in a timely manner. So glad that my studies are almost finished so I don't have to worry about that anymore. What does the job front look like? I'm still looking! I might have something new. There is going to be an interview next week. Pretty exciting. I will also talk about that in my next week's entry. David Dear fellow followers,
So I've been studying quite a bit - researching, writing, reading - anything I could find about "the sports sector" and the red bull case. The task is really good and interesting. Of course, I knew about the campaign many many years back. Now thinking about it from a different perspective is really interesting - with all of this newly gained knowledge and training I've had over the past year (and even before that). I can see it clearer than ever before. It all makes sense. This is why I chose to take this case study as my very last module so that I can use my gained knowledge and all the training and put it into this very last module. It worked so far. I'm really proud. My wife and kid are proud, too. I'm so happy this journey has been a success so far. So what's next? Well, still working and finishing this last module which I think I will achieve by the end of next week. Then I'm graduating from this class. I've been looking for better jobs all the way. And I think I have a good idea know where to position myself. I know where I want to be. So grateful! For my last entry on sports sector, come back next week. David Hello everyone,
What a blessing this blog has been for me. Thanks to all of you who kept coming back. You gave me the encouragement I needed to keep this blog alive AND, more importantly, keep up with my study schedule. It's so great that I've made it to this point. Now I'm having my very last module in front of me. It's a case study, so it might take me a bit longer to finish. The topic is sports industry (one of my favorites), so I have high hopes for that one! So I will be posting about this module and some other topics throughout December. Just whatever comes to my mind. Then, my wife is going to start her blog on journalism very soon. I reported in my last entry that she is going to pick up journalism studies which is great! I encouraged her to do so. She chose a distance education program and is very confident and happy to start in January of 2018. But first things first. The case study is about "red bull" - exploring the sports industry by means of business model innovation. I'm eager to find out more. Are you? Come back next week. David Hello there!
Thanks for coming back. I've applied and successfully got a new job! This program most definitely helped a lot. Even though I'm not quite finished yet and holding my certificate in my hands, I got an interview and accepted! How about that! I'm going to celebrate with my wife and daughter tonight. I've still two more modules to go which I will take my take with. Deadline is the end of this year (I've set the deadline myself). So the plan is to finish one module in November, and the last one in the first week of December. Since I will start my new job beginning Nov. 1 - which is right around the corner - I won't have the time to study that much before that. And there's a bit of adjustment time afterwards as well. But since I've finished almost each module in about a week (with several longer breaks in between), this will be an easy thing to do. So stay tuned for more news on the job front as well as on the last two modules coming up! David Hello there,
Upper Echelons theory successfully finished! I was really lucky to not be having a crazy work schedule right now. It let's me study some more at night. So now I've started another workshop module called "consumer products". It's a marketing workshop, so I'm really excited how this will go for me. There is only two more modules after this one. I already thought about keeping this blog for a while. I would like to write about some stuff that happens "after" successfully studying at this school. I'm already applying for other jobs in other areas. Mostly, management areas. Accounting, I even looked into IT jobs in the realm of management. My wife encouraged me to go into different directions. I like so many, it is hard to choose. In my next entry, I will talk a bit about this application process within the field of management. Maybe some of you are interested in my experiences of writing/rewriting a CV, writing a cover letter, preparing for interviews etc. pp. I think this one will be worth it. So come back! David |
